Interchange Shoalhaven Update
Hello to all in the Interchange Shoalhaven community. This is both an introduction to me, Jane Moore, as the current site manager, and a brief update on our merger process with Interchange Australia, based in the Southern Highlands. I am currently in the manager role here, replacing Drew Sullivan whom you know left in late August. It’s been great meeting so many of you over the past 2-3 months. I have a case management background in disability services when it was known as ADHC and later DADHC, paired then with DOCS. Since that time, I’ve been working mainly in either project officer positions with Health and Police, and also in Director positions with DOCS and Corrections. It’s a joy to return to a smaller organisation, and whilst being responsible to our Board for managing our business, it’s also being part of a team and returning to my case management and community interests. I’m local to the Bay and Basin area and enjoy the beaches, the local pool complex and of course all the beauty of the area especially Booderee National Park.
The merger is progressing, and will most likely be a reality in December this year, bringing with it new service opportunities in aged care, opportunities for employment, better support systems for existing staff, and a possible expansion into other areas. However, we will continue to offer the current services and supports, and will keep you in touch with any developments. In the meantime you will notice some publicity, branded Interchange Australia as we transition to the new organisation. We are offering an exciting program, in conjunction with Interchange Australia, of activities in our South Coast area. Keep your eye out for information this week. We will soon be taking delivery of a comfortable bus to increase the range of activities we offer.
I look forward to meeting more of you, our Interchange Community. Do say hello when you come into the office here in Nowra.
– Jane Moore
